Very appreciative of the EPD each and every day for what you all do for our community.
Keep up good work.
When on a trip up North to Wisconsin, our home alarm went off, I was alerted on my phone, and our alarm company notified Elgin PD to respond because we were away. It seemed like literally only moments later that I was talking to two officers via my front door camera speaker, and they had found the door blew open from the wind (in our haste to leave we missed locking the door), but the security chain had stopped it from blowing totally open. They checked for any signs of foul play and found none. One of them stayed on camera with me as the other one walked around the house exterior to make sure nothing else was suspicious, and everything proved secured. They resecured the door and wished us a great day, we thanked them profusely. As an ex-police officer myself, I found their concern genuine, as well as their attitude professional, but also cordial. Elgin PD from the top to the bottom are all class acts! What great representatives of our community!
